## Fictional concept

Pelagic is a fictional concept for an ocean research collective. Its design, editorial copy, interface, logo, icons, procedural creatures, particle systems, water shader, field-note graphics, and synthesized ambience were supplied with this project. No individual authorship is established by this QA pass.

The jellyfish are procedural artistic studies inspired by general jellyfish anatomy, rather than species-accurate reconstructions. The water and creatures come from `src/ocean.js`; field-note illustrations and grain come from CSS/SVG in `src/style.css`; ambience is synthesized in `src/main.js`; the local logo and icons are inline SVG in `src/main.js`, with `favicon.svg` providing the favicon. No supplied template images, stock photography, video, or generated bitmap assets are present in this checkout. Root and QA PNGs are local browser screenshots, not page media.

## Scientific context

Scientific text is presented as short educational summaries. Zone depth boundaries can vary across research definitions; this experience follows NOAA's five-zone depth ranges.

## QA preservation and source record — 2026-10-25

The supplied Pelagic site was already a custom procedural piece. Its existing brand copy, palette, fonts, hero and ocean artwork were retained during this QA pass. No template images or Scrolltide media were present or added. All root screenshots and `qa/*.png` are local production-browser captures, not external assets.

Exact asset locations, unchanged artwork hashes, installed versions, local license evidence and the distinction between inherited authorship and QA changes are recorded in [PROVENANCE.md](./PROVENANCE.md). No new dependency or external service was introduced.
